We have been teaching harp students for 25 years and are delighted to work with absolute beginners as well coaching those with more experience. All are welcome. Student ages range from five years to 80. It’s never too late to learn! Special needs students are especially invited.
New students enjoy a six week introduction course, learning to play a tune by ear right away. At the end of it, they are free to choose to continue study or conclude their harp encounter.
Learning Process & Content
Students receive hands-on experience in learning the harp. This unique, creative and fun approach employs intuitive movement and music-making techniques.
Sets of tunes are learnt by ear and gradually layering on skills at the student’s own pace. The result is musical fluency at every level where learners achieve a repertoire (playlist) they may perform and share with family and friends in casual settings, personal enjoyment or that will prepare them for greater goals like recitals, concerts, college or vocation.
Students receive custom lesson plans, covering most genres of music: Celtic, Sacred, Folk, Classical, Children’s music, Popular, Jazz, Renaissance, Worldbeat, Rock, Contemporary and new original compositions and arrangements.
Ultimately we teach students HOW to learn and fluently “speak” the language of music through friendly, patient encouragement.
